Can not opt out
I don't have any further comments than most of the other people saying negative things. I didn't even know this site existed until a friend told me about it, and I sure did not sign up for any of my information of mine being displayed. However, just like it says at the beginning of this, I too have tried several times to opt out and email about my issues with no success. I will keep telling everybody I know about this site so they are aware of it and I guess I will have to keep trying in the meantime to find a way to get rid of my data on here.

Living person privacy is a lie
Created a tree with some living family members as a test. Checked the option for living people to be excluded from the public register. Search on that site (even from other machines) and the details I entered that should be private show up. Deleted my tree, the details I entered are still up well after two days later. This company doesn't give a flying *** about your privacy and whatever they say in their privacy policies and terms and conditions (which I checked before trying the site out) are also lies. Have tried to follow their opt-out procedures, but guess what. It doesn't *** work. I get an error message. Go figure. Don't trust this company with any information.

This website offers an "opt-out" but I get an error every time I try to opt-out. Horrible website. I have followed the lengthy verification I-am-not-a-robot procedure and always get the same error. (See attached screen shot). I have managed to delete my record from other websites but not this one. There is also no other form of contact. No email and no phone number. You are forced to fill out the search form. I have been trying to opt-out for a year now. They claim that they honor and respect private information but they do not. This website needs to be shut down.

When using their opt out page, this is the error message you'll see: Opt Out Status Your opt out request could not be processed due to an error. Please try again by refreshing your browser, or go back and click optout button again. If that doesn't work, please submit your request manually to customer service using our contact us form. Thanks. (Another option is to try again in an hour or so, it will probably be working.) If you go to the page to submit a manual request, you'll see this: Contact Us Opt out requests submitted here will be ignored. Use the opt out page. For opt out/removal requests click here. Are there any other means to pursue to remove information? Are there legal options? Has anyone contacted the press about this?

FamilyTreeNow unresponsive to requests to remove information
I contacted FamilyTreeNow and requested that they remove all personal and sensitive information pertaining to me and people I've associated with. There is a list of every place I've lived, people I've lived with or rented from - including their relatives - for the past twenty seven years. They have not responded to my request and the information is still accessible to anyone. Good way to find out where old friends are. I was able to opt out wth no problem. Not such good thing if someone is up to no good.

I checked my name on your website. I never gave you permission to list any info on me and find you took to much allowance with my info. I'm not a part of your family tree and find this invasive and dangerous. Shame on you

This is what the do another way to steal people information and sell it to government agencies. Once you sign up they didn't tell you it's a contract made.
And you information will be exposed My life does the same thing and it's in England this is how they track us down. That's why it's not good to sign up to anything the more information you share them more information you give away

This Site Sucks
I have tried numerous times to opt out and it is never successful. Plus there is no contact information besides an automated email which doesn't help at all. What's the deal? They put up all your personal information and you have no way of getting it restricted. The trolls are out there just looking for free info to rip you off. Wonder how many identity thieves have scored off this site. I have tried replying to the emails that say they will help with the opt out problem and all they do is robo-send back a standard BS reply to go to their opt out page. What a crock

Do not use family tree now!!!They make it impossible to remove your personal info. It is easy for stalkers to get your person info without your permission while they make money off you!!!! This is very scary and unsafe!!!

This guy is a real *** He lives at 7101 Rutherford Canyon Rd Loomis, CA. I can't seem to find his phone number.
If anyone lives near him, please feel free to let him know in person what a *** he is. I would but I live in SoCal.
Already reported him to BBB and CA AG's office. Not sure this will stop him but it's worth a try.

The company did nothing wrong. Did you read every Terms of Service Agreement and check the little I agree box? The sell you information to other companies and you told them it is ok. All of the informatiom is out on the web already and this site just brought it together. Why are people are worried about the government spying on them when they are willing to put it all out there on social media?

Not only are they adding people without permission, they will not let you remove it. They have a "box" to check to "Prove that you are not a robot", however, there is NO box. Consequently, you cannot send them messages or remove yourself! This is a company of SCAMMERS using personal information to sell to advertisers! Their falsely acquired information is impossible to remove. This website should be shut down for EVERY privacy concern and law that it flaunts. Personally, if they do not remove MY information, I will sue them. Anyone that works undercover can be compromised, and information about children is illegally being displayed.

There is way too much personal info available to the public on Family Tree Now site. I would like to know just How/ Where did they get all the info they have made available to share & who gave them the permission to share it? Face Book needs to take this site down...
