The info FTN provides initially, easily and upfront is all public info that usually takes a bit of *** to get at...but it is all public record. They do not say who "Truthfinder" is which is a website they steer you to for further info...I chose not to go there because I did not want to give my email and other data simply to sign on...my guess is that delving deeper into their system will result in being steered to sites that have a fee attached...which one can find on their own if they really want to go after easily obtained public records. Good luck on your desire for less info but I think you will find public data will always remain accessible

Familytreenow - Customer Care Review
This company posted personal information on their website and Google, and refuses to remove it. I have contacted them many times over two weeks, with NO response. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate. I don't understand how this site helps with a family tree, when they just post your name, address and phone number online without permission.

I suspect the only recourse may be keeping record of the opt out request and proving they are not honoring those (comments suggest they're not). But.. I fear there won't be anything that can be done because the website says it is based in California but other complaints have said they are really in New Zealand, which no one hear can really shut down.

I highly rate this site as it helped me solve a puzzle regarding what happened to a dear friend whom I lost contact with. All the other tracing people services wanted a monthly membership and card details- imagine trying to cancel it after the look up.The charge would run for years. This site is alone in being free and only provides minimal details, but I do not wish to be intrusive and know a lot of personal or financial details or even contact through social media sites. This site was enough to trace my old friend and know that he was doing well and to be happy for him. Such sites are extremely rare in this materialistic age

Family Tree Now - Love this site!
One of very few sites that you can find loved ones or lost friends for free and I don't have to give them my email address. They don't try to fool you by saying it's free and then say 'by the way you need to create and account'! I don't know why anyone is complaining about their info being there without their permission. It is public record and on tons of sites! Maybe these are just people who have something to hide.

I googled myself today. I was astonished to see that both of my addresses are listed. I have family at both residences. Phone numbers posted as well. Never signed up for this. How is this company in business? How are they not contstantly in a court battle? Big brother, here it comes. If I can't get them to take down my info I may have to stalk their employees and they see how it feels. Where are they Cali? It's a long flight but on the way there it will give me time to come up with a good game plan! See then family tree! Losers

Every person who's information is here without their consent should file a lawsuit against this POS company ! The information they publish here has no useful purpose.

There is a website that criminals are using to get information regarding your family and where you live. The site is "familytreenow" (you can find their site on google or typing in that name plus dot com) and I went to their site and typed in my name and they have my address, phone number , as well as a few of my family members and their information.
I would strongly suggest you go on the site to see if they have any of your private information, you can also opt out of them maintaining your information.
If you find your information on the site like I did, go to the bottom of the page and click privacy and then click opt out.
Some who have found their info cannot opt out. If you can't opt out, email the company.
Also a good tool for getting information about people.

Its actually syndicated from basic google search. Might as well sue google too, and spokeo, and beenverified and even the govt, since they have your personal info.
